1422 - Como. Early 1900s. 1st house at left is Speas house which George W. and Mayme Champion rented. George M. Champion was born there. 2nd house belonged to George and Bertha Champion. Large house was home of superintendent of the railroad. Source: Clarence M. Champion
1423 - Como. Early 1900s. Como Market. Was probably constructed in 1890s by grocer William Lilley, After 1898 it became Champion-Gwin Grocery and Meat Market. They ran market until 1910. Pinky Simmons ran store until Mr. & Mrs. C. V. Dungan bought it about 1924. The Dungans ran it until it was vacated about 1939. Source: Clarence M. Champion
